Thanks in advance for any input - You folks are great!

I am interested in a receiver to run 4 sets of speakers: (Outdoor: JBL N24AWII (1 set) (8 ohn 100 watt); Indoor: JBL SP6C (3 sets) (8 ohn 80 watt)). I care mainly about music rather than video (I don’t even have a decent TV).

Can anyone tell me whether either the Yamaha RX V1300 or the Pioneer VSX D811 receiver is suitable (specs on both below)? Or whether a different receiver is more suitable?

Hi Jessica,

Just wondering, if you care mainly about music, then why are you pondering on buying a multi channel receiver? My advice to you is get an integrated amp, or two channel receiver, with a niles switch box to run multiple sets of speakers. Hope this helps.

If however you do als want a hometheater and multi room/zone set up u cou use a Niles multi channe amp to drive them keep in mind that the yamaha has multi zone capabilities, though I would think a Sony STR-DA4ES would be easier.

Just a thought, but if not get a dedicated multi roo system from Niles w/o the Yamaha

heres what may be best for you though
