LCD?

Sony and Sharp tend to lead the pack by a pretty solid margin.

I agree with Bmx, Sharp is known for outstanding PQ and build, though I bought a 23" Samsung for my office that has excellent PQ and looks great to boot, white like an Apple product, nice design.

Good Bedroom LCD's

Put Toshiba's 23" in a couple bedrooms--because they offered bilt-in upconverting DVD's. Very Nice and can get them online right now for
$500-$600 range. Model 23HLV86 (2006 model) 23HLV67(2007 model)

Put a 37" (Model 37HLV66) in the master bedroom--can find for under a $1000

All are 720 p---but have great picture.

Sharp, Toshiba and Sony are my picks for LCD with Sharp being on top. They offer the best picture quality in my opinion.

HAHA Put Toshiba out of the league for LCDs (good for RP though...). Sony and Sharp are the way to go. The new sharp line is great if you like piano finish. or else, go Bravia (sony)! I own one and it's a charm. Deepest blacks i've seen from an LCD screen to this day.

Sony Bravia...

We got a 40 inch Sony Bravia last fall and we couldn't be more happy with it. 1 NFL season in HD and now we're in NBA playoffs in HD - PQ looks great. Now if we could only get more HD channels!

Good luck.

If still unsure, please search around the Internet for various opinions.

The bottom line remains that while there are standout products from individual manufacturers, historically Sharp and Sony have been putting forth the absolute best of the best on a very consistent basis for LCD quality overall. Similar to how Panasonic and Pioneer have really been ahead of the pack for plasma displays.

Yes, you might find a few that are 'as good' for the money, but unless you are flat out looking for a cheap display over a quality display, then those two (sony/sharp) are the way to go.

In my son's playroom... A 32" Olevia! It looks like garbage and neither he nor I complain - the price was right. :)
