I know I can't have "good" for this price but what's best in the $60 or less catagory for 2.0 or 2.1.

$20-$40 80's stereo vintage receiver + $78 shipped for the Behringer B2031P speakers on special price at B&H Photo. You can't get a better deal. You should be blown away by the SQ you get for this price.

Theoretically yes - if you are lucky PQ will be better, but buying vintage receiver/integ amp is a change of this amp will have something broken - not so much internal components, but controls DO deteriorate quickly and surely. Not to mention these speakers will hardly fit near your pc

The 2030Ps appear to be out of stock but when used with an old receive and a small subwoofer they really are fantastic computer speakers. That's what I use. Of course by the time you add a receiver and a small sub you're probably 5x over budget.

My suggestion is a little (50%) over budget as well. Overstock has a few refurbished Klipsch Promedia 2.1 computer speaker sets on sale for $95 plus $3 shipping. I've owned these and the Promedias are in my opinion the finest 2.1 computer speakers ever made.

They aren't as fine as a pair a Behringers (needs sub) but you won't be spending 3x you budget by the time you get a subwoofer and a receiver, and the Promedias are in my opinion the finest 2.1 computer speakers ever made.
I agree with with sholling. Either the behringers or the promedias. I've owned both and would buy them again.
