Getting Started First Time Help

It’s been a while again but I have progress to update, during Christmas last year I found a crazy deal on a new marantz sr7010 so I got it. I also got the fv15hp to demo and an ascend acoustics cmt 340 se center to demo and kept both. While not complete of course the initial run with the xt32 had me turning the sub down to about 1/3 power. I am definitely getting the reset of the cmt 340s over time. Thanks to everyone for all the time and assistance and patience as I take the time to do it right. Also thanks to u guys I’m prolly looking at another sub down the road to balance, but that’s after the rest of the speakers.

In my search for gear I have come across the idea of making my own cables (maybe to show off). Am thinking about bi-wiring on both ends bananas and spades. Everything I have read says 10-12 gauge wire OFC. I have hear of bluejeans cables but if I’m building my own I might as well just get the parts. My questions pertain to where to source all theses parts at this point such as pants, connectors, Cable sleeving, wire itself. Also for the wire gauge is it going to be too stiff to coil extra?

I wouldn't bother with bi-wiring (buy wiring), no benefits there. All you need is sufficient gauge all-copper speaker wire for your impedance/distance. Making your own cables can be a good thing....this thread has lots of ideas.

Pretty normal for a commercial sub to only need the gain set at 1/4-1/3 range to meet the Audyssey spl target, but many do raise sub level in the avr by a few dB after running Audyssey (2-4 is pretty typical, some do 6).

So no bi-wir8ng it is. Thanks for the link I’m using other ppls builds to construct my own list.

My new problem: so far I have the Marantz sr7010, cmt 340 se center, rythmik fv15hp and just bought the two sets of the cmt 340 se mains and stands. My problem is that friend gave me his old tv when he got a new one this holiday season and it is a 75” dlp. The media center I’m putting it on will only have room for the center channel below it. I need either a new media center or a short av rack to go on the other side of the media center opposite the subwoofer. I can’t seem to find one that has two shelves around 9” each, one for the Marantz (plus antenna and cooling space) and one for my htpc and Xbox one s stacked together. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I have been looking since cyber Monday basically. Also I have done the google search and amazon and all the local stores. I don’t need anything nice, cheap will work just fine. Also what do u guys think of the monoprice stackable shelving system? It’s the only one I have found that might work and there are a number of Chinese knockoffs on Amazon too, but they sound flimsy from reviews and pictures.
