I hate to do this, but I've purchased everything after I found this site, through it. We got flooded out and we lost everything. As you can imagine, no insurance..we're not in a 100 yr flood plain, and actually it may be our neighbors fault for building a bridge down stream, that blocked a 48" drain under the road.

The only reason I'm posting this, is that I've got to replace everything . can Audioholics cut me some slace on pricing...I've only bought the best of everything and it's all gone. This forum and store has been GREAT and I hope it's owners and members will help a fellow member...Thanks Guys..

Help Please,
Todd

Sorry to hear about your ill fortune.

I would doubt many business would be too willing to give you discounts because of being flooded. I don't think your situation is ultimately that different from someone who just doesn't have much money to spend on a HT to start with.

However, even if a company is willing to give you a great discount due to your misfortune, do you really think that they would do it via a public venue (like this forum)?
I'm sure there would be plenty of "me too's" jumping all over that!

If I were in your shoes, I would contact the Audioholics store (or any other store you would like to do business with) privately. Explain what happened, but put the emphasis on the fact that you intend to buy an entire system and want to know what type of discount they might offer.

But I really think your best approach is Audiogon.

Good luck!

PS - Posting on this forum is not an effective way to contact the store. Your post may reach the store, but no guarantees.

These few days in I would think that the house itself would still be the priority... that and buying insurance (or adding stilts, or both).

That said, I have to agree with what was said above. If you can get a store to do it, it's not going to be by posting in this forum: it's going to be by contacting them directly.

Thanks for the love..
Todd,

Exactly what are you expecting? My memory of your participation on this board is quite fresh. My perception is that you are only here when you need something from someone else. Hat in hand.

Even worse is you don't see that. Then you have the cajones to post "Thanks for all the love...".

All that I can gather from previous interactions:

You seem well off. Plenty of $$ to outfit two separate A/V setups. Do you own a '02 Dodge Viper (as per your handle)? But you don't have adequate insurance or supplemental catastrophe coverage?

You seem smart enough to do well for yourself but then not smart enough to protect your investments.

You seem to have a sense of entitlement. I am sure you expect and think you deserve that some store somewhere should cut you a break and then spoon feed you everything that is in the user guides that will come with the equipment you are going to have to repurchase.

Maybe you should spend some of that $$ on an attorney and take the guy down the street to court.

The posters on the thread did give the most helpful advice there was to give: sue the neighbors if they are at fault, contact the AV seller directly if you want to try for a discount.
