I should have said "supercar specs." The Viper is a mean looking machine, but pound for pound, the '06 Z06 is faster.

Those are pretty amazing times in the quarter, as my 1670cc (102 cu) Yamaha Warrior bike will only do 12.9 seconds @ 101 mph.
The quarter mile time listed are what GM has gotten....and try not to judge by magazines times when released.I can say that in the hands of a experienced driver the car should do 11.0-10.9 1/4 mile time WITH Drag Radials or slicks....GM 126 or so mph shows the HP but the 11.7 shows lack of traction. Before my cam in my car.....just with headers, exhaust and cold air intake I did a 11.7 @ 120 mph and this is with less HP than the new Z.

sources are false

the new viper has a greater top speed then the corvette. hands down.

Not to mention it looks way better.

I wish chevy brought back the camaro in the 1969 body style, sorta like how ford did with the mustange.

In my opinion, Chevy hasn't made a nice looking car since the 71 chevelle and the 67 vette.

PS: MOPAR all the way!

Sheep, how can you say the source is false. When the guy is posting his actual times at the track.
I for one would love to have Gary's car. But alas, I do not drive due to disability.

That sucks Brian. I guess that can happen when you break a 5-story fall with your face. Although I must say, that's extremely manly. Most pussies would try to use their hands or legs :p

And Gary...does your Vette have a sweet sound system too? It would only be fitting.

What looks better is a matter of opinion......But facts are facts......The Viper does not have a greater top speed than the new Z06.....The new Z06 has a top speed of 202 mph ...this was in testing....BUT they list it at 198 mph......The amazing thing about the new Z06 is it avoided the gas guzzler tax.....the Viper did not....Hey I love the Viper also....hell I would buy one but my garage is only so big :D

Actually I have the stock Bose system....decent enough....My car is fairly loud with my mods so I would really need a very loud system....plus my engine note sounds to sweet to cover up. :D

Heck yeah. It'd be so pointless to own a muscle car like that with a beefy V8 engine if it didn't have "the rumble". Maybe if you ever get a Blue Vette, you should look at installing some McIntosh gear. It has wonderful sound quality and oldskool looks to boot. Might not be your bag though....

Check it out:

Nice car...here's mine

GaryZ06, nice Vette. I prefer the older style myself so I thought I would post mine for your enjoyment...

It's a 1979 ( I have had it since 1980 )
Body & paint were all done about 5 years ago, 6 coats of lacquer, 4 black 2 clear.
All original serial numbers, the engine has had a full B&B with a few mods but nothing too crazy. On the dyno it's doing 370HP & 430Lbs of torque. It's an automatic ( I'm 6'3" and a clutch just wasn't going to be comfortable ) but it will do 30' of rubber in all three gears if needed.

It's the last thing I have left from my pre-married life... :(

GaryZ06,

What equipment do you use in your HT?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say a Pioneer 1014 receiver, 3 model 200 Outlaw amps, JVC VCR, a DVR receiver, and Polk RTi speakers (can't make out the dvd/cd player :( ). But it's just a hunch. :) Cyg, did you see all the photos at the beginning of the thread? Easy miss, as some of these threads go on forever!

Perfect....except the DVD/CD player is an Oppo and the DVR is a HD version. The Polk RTi's I have are the RTi12....CSi5....RTi4....and the sub is a Velodyne DLS 5000R.......In all the photos I have a Sony DVD but in the last picture with the newly painted walls I have the Oppo.

Nice Vett,

My frather has a modded 86' that rocks...but it ain't no Z06. I got a chance to go to the Vett plant, man what a place...it takes about 33 hrs. to buld a Vett. My father also got to sit in the NEW 2006 Vett...what a beauty. If anyone has a chance to go to the plant...you will def. enjoy yourself.
