GameDay Setup Help??

Hey everyone,

So this is a little late in the day but I was just given a surround sound system with amp and hoping to get it set up at some point this weekend. Just some details:
TV - JVC HD-52G787
Amp - Yamaha RX-V361
Speakers - Bose Acoustimass 7

I've already wired the speakers throughout the room and hooked them up to the amp. Now my only issue is that I use Chromecast that plugs into my HDMI 1 port on my TV to stream whatever I'm watching. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the audio switch from my TV speakers to the surround sound. I read in the manual online for the TV that if I'm using HDMI input then I can't use the optical output for audio as well. Hopefully someone else knows a little more about this than me ha. I appreciate any help or ideas.

Does your receiver have hdmi inputs? Perhaps your cc would work from your receiver instead of your tv.

You should be able to use the optical, you may have to 'turn on' the connection.

TV optical out is often stereo so he would miss anything above that from content.
