First time poster, here.
I'm trying to put together a 5.1 HT system nearly from scratch, on a college student's budget. The only real experience I have with the area is what I've learned in the past 2 weeks of internet research and auditioning at local shops, so bear with me if i seem totally ignorant.
Since my budget is limited, I'm trying to take advantage of bargains when I see them, but don't want to make stupid mistakes in purchasing.
Right now I have an opportunity to buy a Gallo subwoofer for $100. This seems like a steal, but Gallo has never been one of the recommended sub brands in my researching. In your expert opinions, is this a worthwhile purchase? I'd be pairing it up with most likely speakers along the lines of Paradigm titans or Mini Monitors, or B&W LM-1's or 303's.
