Never did direct comparison

I have the Orb Classic One setup in my bedroom system. I think they are a much better deal than Gallos. If you're getting into the Gallo price range, than I'd just suggest getting regular monitors and a sub. For a little over $500- the Classic One is great for a second system/office...or if you just can't deal with looking at regular speakers. In my home, they can't touch my main system, but that's ok with me.

I'm thinking of getting the Orbs for my secondary system and my kitchen, my buddy has Gallos in his HT and they sound pretty decent (he has a very small room for HT 11x12), Orbs are less expensive than the Gallos, I just wanted to compare sound before I purchased.

I have had my Orbs for about 3 months now and I am very satisfied. I have the singles front and rear and a dual for the center channel with the Orb sub. Using a HK 235 receiver. To give you an idea, I have these in our great room which is huge. The room is at least 20x20 with 25 foot ceilings and opens into the kitchen, dining room, and game room. I needed something small that would blend in with the decor. The copper versions passed the WAF with flying colors.

Given their size and cost, the performance is excellent. If you have room for larger speakers you can get better performance. My primary system in the Home Theater has large floorstanding speakers and the difference is night and day. However, if you need small, decor friendly speakers these do a great job.

Yeah the WAF is critical, and both are small and round. I read somewhere that the guy that designed the ORBs use to work for Anthony Gallo, also the Gallo HTIB is about 1200 bucks (with brackets) which is what my buddy has in HT room. I'm going to check outh the Gallos this weekened up at Palm Beach, there's a showroom that has them.

Well, I bit the bullet. I sprung for the Gallo HTIB 5.1 featuring the Nucleus round speakers, I should have all by this Friday! I'll set up, listen to how it all sounds, and give all interested parties the heads up. I'll be connecting to a 42" Panasonic plasma (ed) through Panasonic's receiver, saxr-70 and dvd player s-97 via hdmi--stay tuned!
