Man, are fuel prices really starting to soar.

http://gasbuddy.com/

It figures I bought a diesel truck to save on fuel costs and it's now costing almost $0.20 more than premium. It's getting cheaper to start driving my old 5.9L Dodge that get 12 mpg on premium gas than my new truck that get 16 mpg on diesel.

I'm glad I don't live in California where they are over $4.00/gal for diesel.

We already have a thread for this :) And yes, LAST WEEK, I paid $3.80/gal for premium at the station that usually has the lowest prices in my area, and it is only going to go up with the whole Libya stuff. Though it has come back down some, just the fact that it hit $100/barrel again means we are going to see a big spike again in the next month or so.

*edit here's the thread http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48409&page=21&highlight=wow Combine?

Regular is $1.21/litre here, which would be about $4.55/US gal. However, look at Europe - you'll pay about 2.5 times as much as we do.

I just can't believe how much more diesel has gone above premium gas prices. I always thought there was less refining needed with diesel versus gas. I really feel sorry for the independent truckers right now. Fuel surcharges or not, they have a tough time making ends meet when it rises this fast.

I deal with large chemical shipments every day, all are under contracts. Considering my operating budget has been drastically cut and there is no way in hell they will pass the increases on to customers with higher rates. So we'll be forced to cut the budget somewhere else.......

Gee, so where do you think they'll want to cut???

(hint, hint: layoffs)

This morning I filled up at $3.22/gal, the time before that it was $3. What are you doing with 43,000 gallons of fuel in a week, warp?

My dad just retired from doing that :) They had like 25 big service trucks (heavy equipment and paving), so he was buying MILLIONS of gallons a year.

I KNEW the prices would go back up as soon as I bought a car that used Premium fuel again

Running the generators to power big subs.... :D

Own a small gas station/carwash/service station, and we move alot of gas - give or take -about to 2,000,000 gal a year..... a tanker truck hauls 8600 gal, and we fill our tanks at least 4-5 times a week....

Gotta have all that money fluid on a regular basis, thats $130K per week at $3 a gallon cost... and there's very little margin on a gallon of gas in a competitive, market think pennies , changes daily so the object of the game is buy low and sell high, don't get stuck with a load as the price is going to start going down....
