Which direction are you going? I have tried a DCX, SMS1 and just got a AS-EQ. I love the AS-EQ, it is an awesome little system.

The AS-EQ holds it own for just low frequency resolution. The DCX tops it if you have outboard amps and you integrate your mains into the mix.

I was looking for simple plug and play for the low end so the EQ1 is perfect.

thats my understanding as well. the EQ1 is a GREAT UNIT for subs, but im wanting to go to the next level.

however the EQ1 is super user friendly and really really easy to use and tweak.

The DCX made me curl up into a fetal position and cry several times. It is complicated but if you spend some time with it, you can figure it out.

If you hook up the DCX with a com port cable you can use the software to tweak it on the fly... works great.

You can run it without hooking it up to the dcx as well to get a feel for it.... Its very simple to use.
