Alot of these are selling on Ebay for around $650. Even that is a little rich for my blood... but none the less. $850 is a little pricy.

So is the Wii. I think Id still opt for the Wii or XBOX 360 for $199 and $299 that MicroCenter is selling them for with rebate. PS3 is a bit rich for my blood right now.

Well the only PS3 game I have played is Call of Duty 3, and a little BNA07 at the store. All I can say is once the games start coming, its gonna get crazy. The reason I chose the PS3 is that my mother and sister went in and got it for me for christmas.

If you think about it, by the time u buy the HD drive for Xbox, you are at the price of the PS3 that includes blue ray. Not to mention it has built in wireless, 7 controller capabilities, and triple the internal storage.

I saw the system at Target when they frist got them in and I was VERY impressed. The 360 looks great, so I wasn't expecting a big improvement vs the PS3, but I have to say it did manage to look noticably better. The games on the PS3 are what I am after, so the system for me will definitely be a PS3, whether it is this one or another one... Looking at the Blu Ray titles available though, I have to say that there are VERY few movies that I am actually interested in, or interested in double dipping on anyway - long term it may be a benefit, but right now it isn't.

Out Microcenter didn't advertise that deal on the 360, but in the store they do have it.

Could you please elaborate on this? I currently own both systems and I can honestly say that Xbox360 has the edge in the looks department as of right now. Resistance Doesn't come close to gears of war and all the multi platform games "COD3, NFS: Carbon, etc... All look better on the Xbox360. If it wasn't for the PS3 having a bluray player I would have sold mine and waited until they were more mainstream.

In march when the good games start coming out for the PS3 {Heavenly Sword} and so on, then I will feel good about my purchase and the PS3 will start to shine. But as of launch it has been a major let down. Resistance was touted as a spectacular game and if not for the online play I would rate the actual gameplay no higher than a 6. Graphics are nothing special to look at in that game what so ever. But when you have have 30-40 players online I will admit it is pretty fun and addictive.

I thought the PS3 games looked great. I haven't actually seen Resistance in person yet, but just the few games I saw, the graphics looked pretty spectacular. My brother has a 360 and the graphics don't look so great on all games. Have not seen Gears of War yet either, but it obviously won game of the year for multiple reasons.... Condemned also looks very good on the 360, but in most of the games, the people still look a bit cartoonish to me, and maybe that is just the specific games themselves, but the textures and look of the games I saw on the PS3 looked better (both on LCD screens). Having not spent any real time with the PS3, I don't have a truly full opinion of it yet.

I have to have it simply for DMC4 and MGS4.

You guys with the XBOX360 and PS3, are you noticing shadowing effects from slow response times on any games if you're using an LCD? I would think a plasma would be the ideal flat screen with HD gaming.

On a good LCD with fast pixel response, ghosting shouldn't be an issue. I have a CRT so it isn't an issue for me, my brother has an LCD (Samsung) and I didn't see any ghosting at all.

I haven't seen any difference between the two consoles graphically, if anything the XB360 games are better looking on a whole right now because it's been out a year and it's easier to program for.

Good luck selling that thing if you are still trying to, it seems supply on the PS3 now exceeds demand.

Far from the truth. When you see them SITTING on retail store shelves, then you can talk about supply>demand. Now, people haven't been able to make a KILLING on them pretty much since the 3rd or 4th day after launch. A couple hundred yeah, sure. But as far as them disappearing immediately when they hit brick and mortar locales, yes. They are gone immediately.

I predict in the next 12-18 months, the PS3 will far suprass the 360 in every category. Already, side by side, Fight Night round 3 looks markedly better on PS3 than on the 360...and the PS3 just launched. Give it a year or more and you will see game makers take full advantage of the superior product that is the PS3.

I predicted on another forum way back in Jan of last year that PS3's would be selling on Ebay in the day or 2 immediately after launch for over $2000 and they were. (I was laughed at when making that prediction).

The successes lie as much in the game makers as they do in the system specs. Time will show that Sony will prevail again on having the most popular game system (this will benefit all who own a PS3 - gaming will be glorios by the end of 2007 and 2008 will be a great year), and this time their system will also be the more advanced system (unlike PS2 vs. XBox).

I am not a fanboy of any, in fact, I have grown to dislike Sony over the years. But I am all for having fun gaming and I want to be able to play the best. I'm sure I will eventually own both, but for me, if I HAD to choose one and only one, it would be an easy choice: PS3.

I get my own 60gig PS3 on January 19th (according to the local Gamestop). I'm in no real rush since there isn't really any game I want to own bad until March when MLB 07 comes out for PS3. It is gonna be sweet...

Mikeyj92, that's exactly what I mean. There are numerous reports of people finding the PS3s just sitting on shelves across the country at many retail chains.
