This A/V receiver is Dolby Digital 5.1 ready. Perfect for DVD players and pre-pros with 5.1 built-in. This was one of the better units from Pioneer right around the time 5.1 came onto the scene. Power is impressive especially with loudness on.
There is a problem with one set of speaker terminals. It goes in and out intermintently, so I've been using the bottom terminals with both A & B sets turned on.
