New house means new rooms, and this one doesn't work well with tower speakers, so it's time for something new. The room is wide and rather shallow (23' by 15', but with a 4' square in one corner for bathroom), and the TV/audio is centered on the wide wall, the rest of which is bookshelves. I'm looking to get 2 fronts and a center channel, and re-use my Morel/Renaissance rear channels and sub for the moment. The current front runners are
  • ELAC B6, C5 - about $475 for the three
  • Wharfedale Diamond 10.2,10.cs - about $580 for the three
  • RSL CG24 - $975 for the three
Amp is NAD 743, probably soon to be replaced with Anthem. Mostly a music system, but an increasing amount of movies. Music tends towards early music, funk and misc 20th C rock (Pink Floyd, etc), so it's hard to pick a "sound" that covers all three. I've a slight preference to front ported or suspension designs, so I can put them closer to the bookshelves and not have to remove the glass doors

Thoughts?
