Front Left speaker is a lot louder than the front right speaker in 5.1 setup.

I have a 5.1 speaker system. It has a amplifier inbuilt into the subwoofer. While setting up the system I had extended the speaker wires. The front left speaker wire is shorter than the front right speaker wire. But I watched a couple of Audioholics videos in which and read a article in which it was mentioned that wire length doesn't matter as long as the ratio of the longer and shorter cable is lesser than 5:1. In my case the front right speaker wire is probably 2 twice as long as the front left one. I tried plugging in the front left speaker into the front right socket on the amp and it was as loud as it was when connected to the front left socket. When I plugged the front right speaker into the front left socket it still produced lower sound. I checked the connections and they seem fine. How can this be solved?

You may have one damaged speaker, since the problem followed the speaker. If you play the quieter one low and listen close to the drivers, does it sound like the tweeter isn't playing?

What kind of sound does the tweeter produce? Vocals from it sound weak while they sound very strong for the left speaker.

The tweeter should be playing all the highs / fine upper detail, usually not so much vocal, but that depends on the speaker which is why Mark is asking which speaker. Since you can hear a definite difference in vocals, it could be the midrange driver that is damaged.

Well I guess I will swap the rear right with the front right. I hope the system will sound more balanced.

The correct answer is to fix the speaker.

What should I do exactly?

@markw Speakers are iBall (brand) Booster 5.1 (model).
I see that is an Indian outfit, with prices in rupees, I think.
