Friendly reminder from the Moderators of AH

Everybody is allowed to have an opinion. And the administration of Audioholics graciously allows us to post our opinions on almost every subject freely. This goes for both side of a reasonable discussion.

BUT...

There are certain rules that must be followed with no exceptions. Please remember that you agreed to follow these rules when you signed up to be a member of this site. We are all members here at the discretion of the administation. Contrary to popular belief, your Constitution right to "free speech" does not apply here. Our ability to post comments on this site is a privilege that was granted to each and every one of us when we signed up.

So, let me refresh some memories:

I swiped this post from Dave (MajorLoser) because I think more people needed to see it than it's originally intended audience.

This goes for everyone, even the "old timers". I think Audioholics has a pretty darn good reputation within the audio community and this forum and its members directly reflect that. I hope that we can continue to welcome newcomers graciously (we were all there at one time or another) and build on the vast knowledge base that is available here.

It seems most of it is simple common sense. I guess the one part that was a little surprising was at the end: the right for AH to modify anything we post, say, or attach. As long as you are faithful to the original, intended expression. Of course... not much I can do about that...

It's their site and they have all rights and responsibility for what is posted. It would be the same as us writing anything we want in our local newspaper. The newspaper has editorial rights.

I'm not too worried, but here's the M/W definition of "manipulate":

Well im pretty sure I might have set off the reminder when i snapped back at another member out of frustration. While there wasnt any harshness on my part, cooth would have been the correct way of handling it. While we are all subject to internet antagonist, its how we deal with it shows our maturity. Using the "flag post" would have been better so the MODS could deal with it appropriately.

Basically everyone should practice NOT having the last word. There are a few people here who can't stand to not have the last word. As a result, any post in which they are quoted or replied to gets derailed.... like clockwork.
