What's the world coming to when you can't give away a free broken TV that cost 5k, 5 years ago?????

I hear ya. I tried to give away a bunch of stuff on here about three years ago...a TV, Yamaha receiver, DVD player, CD changer, furniture...no takers (then again, people had to live local to me). I tried to give away my 27" TV that still works great, but even places like Habitat for Humanity won't take it. Huh? Growing up, we didn't have much money, and I'd take about anything that was free. I'm sure people like that still exist, but it seems like the prevailing attitude is that people want me to give them stuff that I just got myself. "I'm broke and need help. Please help me. Please give me free things so that I can have a better life. Wait, what's this? A tube TV? How insulting."

If we can start a fun fund, I'm willing to throw it from the top of the house into the pool on video.

If the money gets high enough I will do it while it's plugged in.

If the money gets really high, I will do it plugged in with someone swimming.:D

We have a thrift store chain in the area that benefits Christian inmates when they are released from prison... We just drop stuff off there when needed. The way I figure it, I'm helping them get on their feet so they can get back to stealing the new items I bought to replace the donated items.:D

...and the chain of life continues.:)

I'd pay for that outright as long as I get the legal rights to the video. Sure, your widow would try and sue for part of the $100k prize from America's Funniest Videos, but I'd have it in writing, babeee.

That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode, "The Muffin Tops"
A store selling just the muffin tops opens, but leaves them with the problem of disposing of the muffin stumps.
They initially give the stumps to the homeless shelter, but after many complaints about the missing muffin tops, they have to get rid of them somewhere else. :D

I didn't think that she'd be in the pool. I just said that she'd try to get some of the $100k when I win the grand prize with the video of you lifting the TV and then falling through the roof of your house.

Hee, hee! I remember that episode. :D

Now, the term "muffin top" means something totally different.
I remember a commercial where a chick had a muffin top and said to her boyfriend, "Hey I heard someone call me a muffin top today, what does that mean?" The guy thinks for a second and says, "Well the top is the best part of the muffin so she was saying that she thought you were hot." :D

I gave it to the BB guy. I asked him what he was going to do with it and he said "I's not putting that giant thang in my house, I's gonna dump it for ya, I's gots flat panels".
