Not to be rude but did you try a search. I did and many threads came up. ;)

That's a great midline receiver. From what I've read, Fluance seems to be a decent budget speaker company. The people I've read posts of seem to like them considering how cheap in price they are. To copy my post from another thread, there are better options out there and it certainly depends on how much your're willing to spend.

You might want to look into internet direct speaker companies that let your audition the speakers at home where you're actually going to be using them. That's the only way to know whether any speakers you want to buy will sound good to you or not. Many of them have a 30-day in home trial period and if you don't like them, you can send them back for a full refund.

TSC is a new company that has gotten rave reviews and they're arguably the best bang for the buck around. They have a 5.1 bookshelf package for $615 shipped:

Another ID speaker company that comes highly recommended is Aperion Audio and their base bookshelf package will run you $1000 shipped:

Axiom Audio is a highly regarded for making excellent sounding speakers. Their base bookshelf package is around $1300+:

TSC and Aperion have free shipping both ways, so really you don't have anything to lose to give either a try. I think Axiom is the same, but not sure.

As ace says there’s little reason not to try the brands that offer free shipping both ways. Also some local dealers will let you bring speakers home to demo, so charge a restocking fee. I even had a local dealer bring speakers and equipment over to my place for an in home demo so it could pay to ask around.

Shipping to you is included in the price of Axioms speakers but you do have to pay return shipping if you decide not to keep them. Here are their estimated return shipping prices:

That's good to know with Axiom. Since I never got beyond simply browsing their website speaker pages, I wasn't sure of if shipping was free both ways or not. Still, their return shipping is very cheap compared to if you actually went to UPS of FedEx to ship such things...guess that's the benefit of a company's bulk shipping rates.

I also like Axiom's opening paragraph on that page:

"At Axiom, we believe that the only true way to audition loudspeakers is in your own home, with your own system - not in a soundproofed, controlled showroom. Your time, your tunes, your room - the best way to find your perfect fit."

You can got to as many stores and listen to as many speakers as you want, but don't be surprised that they sound different when you set them up at home. Of course they never tell you that at the stores and obviously that's something they have no control of. But I guess most big chain stores like Best Buy will probably let you return speakers you don't like without too much fuss (if any).

I don't have anything constructive to add, but when I read the word "Fluance", why does the word "Flatulance" enter my head? I've never heard a Fluance speaker, so I'm not trying to disparage them. ;)

I'm new here and wasn't sure how to seach for topics sorry about that. In any case I am looking at the Fluance speakers and the Take Classic speakers and they both look good to me. It seems I would want to upgrade the center on the Fluance and also would have to get a sub to go with them. this makes me lean towards the Take Classic. My tv room is about 10 foot wide by 20 feet long with the sitting are only about 10 feet from the screen, so I think its a comparatively small room. So any more suggestions before I pull the trigger on the Take Fives?

Oh yeah, my tv is a 50 inch Vizio and I'm going to be using a PS3 for movies. Also, music is also important in considering what speakers I get. Thanks again everyone...

Well if you're looking at something like the Energy Take 5, you mine as well look at TSC's TSAT system. Audioholics did a good write up on them here:

Looks like they've got a sale going on right now:

A friend of mine got suckered into buying these speakers. Don't even waste your time. IMO these speakers are "worthless". For free I would have to say NO.

Axiom can e-mail you prepaid return labels and just deduct the cost from your refund. But I found it was a little cheaper to ship the M2's back myself. It was about $11 per speaker vs $15; using FedEx ground.

Even for their smallest speaker, the M2 sounded very good. I have some other speakers I want to audition, but I may very well end up going with Axiom. Cept I'll get the M3's since it's only $34 more.

Keep I mind that the M3 is suppose to sound a little different than the M2. I don’t own either of them but my understanding is that the M3 has a little bit of a mid bass hump to make them sound a little fuller when used w/o a subwoofer. IMO the next step up from the M2 would be the M22 which uses also uses the same 5.25 midrange as the M2 unlike the 6.5 used by the M3.
