Floor standing speaker deals are there,i read reviews of all under $1000 fl,st.spkrs!!
You should still find the infinity beta 50s for $500 a pair!!
I bought these awhile back and there efficient and 8 ohm @1 watt 91db
They are full range 3 way design, big, powerful, clean, not brite on highs, reviewed as the best under $1000 speaker pair,e-bay had a $500 price perpair price!
Steal!
Also recently i ordered the c-360 center ch spkr,$249, they quit beta production and went too the classica model, there not as marvelous because of the highs are a bit brite, not quite as clean sounding either!
I wanted the best sounding spkr, so no flat sounding reference monitor speakers for me!
Be sure to understand reference spkrs should be a flat responce, other speakers can actually make music sound better than normal,a slight sparkling midrange mixed w/clean midbass is what i prefere! WHAT DO YOU LIKE!
250 is too much for a 360 center. Harman audio sells them direct on ebay for less than 200 shipped.

Didn't you have Beta's? Were they the 50's? Have you heard the 50's?
I was thinking about those 4-5 months ago.

The 50s are amazing, but I prefer the 40s. However Bandphan's suggestions are much better IMO.

I want to sell my Def Tech BP7006 front towers. Won't be exactly $600 for the pair but close.

What is boxing day?
Can you give a mini review of those 500's?
They're decent speakers for sure, not top of the line, but well worth double what I paid.

They're fairly bright and have a little problem with the low end until you pump some power into them, but after that they perform very well.

Using test tones I've hit pretty good dB's down to 35 Hz. They get more TV use than anything really, but throw in a blue ray and they can start to put out some serious sound.

They're sexy looking, which was the main reason I took them over the Klipsh's that were also available boxing day. (and saved 200 bucks too)

Boxing day is December 26, when everything goes on sale.

Just to expand a bit on the Boxing Day thing: It's an old English tradition, handed down to Commonwealth countries. On Dec 26th, gift "boxes" are given to the poor and to service people (mailman, chimney sweep, maids, butlers, etc.). Nowadays, it's not generally observed in the traditional sense - now it's just another day off with lots of sales.:)

I'll throw in another suggestion - Paradigm Monitor 7's. I had a pair of V.5's, but sold them when I got my Monitor 9's. The 7's are fantastic for the price though. I got mine for CAN$630, so you should be able to get them for well under that in US currency.
