I haven't been around here in a while, 17 credits of engineering classes are keeping me pretty busy...I hope some of the helpful people are still around.

I made the mistake of hooking up an ART Cleanbox while my amp was on and turned up about 75%. My sub made a loud pop and extended about 2 inches past the front of the sub. I tested it out and it started making a rattling noise. After taking it out of the box to inspect the damage this is what I found.

Forgot to mention, this is my DIY Infinity Kappa Perfect 12. At least I have a backup Perfect 12, I meant to built 2 and just never had the time. So can it be fixed? Are there even parts out there since it's been discontinued for a while? Worth the time even, is there something better out there for us DIYers?

The voice coil is torn away from the cone and the spider is pretty mangled. I'd venture to say repairing it could cost almost as a new Kappa Perfect 12. I'd just use the other Kappa Perfect you've got.

I figured as much, was hoping it wasn't toast since I'm in a much bigger house now and just one sub isn't cutting it...the living room is pretty big and open to the kitchen, I've got 10,000 cubic feet to fill with bass.
