I have a Onkyo bookshelf model SKF-540F and it was a part of the Onkyo htib model HT-S790 the tweeter was accidently smushed in (as you can see in the picture) and it distorts when I put the volume up. The onkyo's tweeter measurements and specifications are:

Type: 2 Way Bass-reflex
Impedance: 8
Ω
Maximum input power: 130 W
Output sound pressure
level:
86 dB/W/m
Frequency response: 55 Hz–50 kHz
Crossover frequency: 4.5 kHz
Cabinet capacity: 0.28 cubic feet (8.0 L)
Dimensions
(W
×
H
×
D):
6-3/16"
×
17-1/16"
×
7-7/8"
(157
×
433
×
200 mm)
Weight: 8.4 lbs. (3.8 kg)
Drivers unit: 5 inch (12 cm) OMF Cone Woofer
×
2
1 inch (2.5 cm) Balanced Dome Tweeter
Terminal: Color-coded push type
Other: Magnetic shielding

I'm on a budget And I dont want to spend more than$40 with shipping for the 2 tweeters that im puting on the bookshelves. I have a Polk Audio csi25 center channel speaker and I would like my fronts all to sound balanced. Here are the specs for the center so you can know what tweeter to reccomend for my left and right to match with the center.

Spec
Type Center Channel Speaker
Sold As Single
Power Rating 10-100W w/channel
Frequency Response 55Hz - 22kHz
Nominal Impedance 8 ohms
Dimensions & Weight 6.5" x 19" x 8"

20.00 lbs.
Features
Features Crossover: 2.3kHz

Enclosure Type: Ported
Driver Complement: 3/4(19mm) tweeter

so theres a .25 measurement difference between my centers tweeter and my left & right tweeter. The diameter of the onkyo tweeter's plate is 6.5mm(measures diagonally from the screw terminal to the one parallel to it). the tweeter itself measures 1"

What tweeter driver do you guys reccomend for my onkyo bookshelf speaker to match with my polk center? My budget is 40 shipped and if you guys could reccomend something that will match the polk for cheapest price I would like to know. Im not super knowledgable of speaker replacement so any tips would be great thanks.

Try and get a replacement tweeter from Onkyo. No two speakers are the same. The crossovers will therefore need some modification. That will be difficult as we would need to know the sensitivity of the original tweeters, and your crossover circuit.

The crossover point of your speakers is high, and I suspect first order given the fact these are budget HTIB speakers. If that is the case, then the acoustic roll off of he tweeters will be crucial as well.

If you do not replace with the exact tweeters, your speakers will sound very different. I suspect your tweeters were made for the purpose.

As far as a match, with crossover at 4.5 kHz the tweeter is not involved in the match to your Polk center to any large extent.

May be you should consider replacing those speakers with some Polks, that match your center.

thanks for the advice I was thinking replacing those tweeters to match the polks would be great modification but now I don't want to do that if its going to be a hassel. I guess I'll get in contact with Onkyo to replace the tweeter with an orginal one. I'm guessing by doing it will save me alot of money too.
