so would it be safe to say the RX-V1600s are shipping as well?
And will you be selling these at a discount to the forum members?

Any info on availability of the V2600 manual on the net?
(I have been hunting for it quite some time now to see if this unit will have the features I need)

Also do you know if scaling (ex 480i -> 720p) can be done over HDMI input - this pdf spec sheet only mentiones throughput

That's great news, Ray.

If at all possible, please check whether it will have HDMI 1.1 (as per the leaflet linked above) or 1.2 (as is said here).

I'm a bit confused, I thought the box stores generally carried the HTR's...

Mayhem: It's possible he may be referring to the recent Best Buy relationship with Magnolia. They do sell the Yamaha's and Pioneer Elite, etc.

Here's a link: www.magnoliaht.com

Not sure you are correct about Magnolia selling Yamaha. None of the 4 Atlanta Magnolia's sell Yamaha and Yamaha is not listed on the Magnolia web site as one of their manufacturers. Maybe they do in other states or maybe they plan to as they continue to expand??

Hi All
I am sure Tweeter will carry the RX-V line
I just posted this info in a different thread

Hello All
Here is a direct quote from the RX-V2600 manual under the HDMI header page 119

Quote:
This unit is not compatible with multi-stereo area audio signal of Super Audio CDs.You can conect devices such as DVD player to ther Multi CH Input jacks

I just started playing with the RX-V2600, 10 minutes last night before I had to run. So far I really like it, but one thing I dont like is the way they changed the front pannel LCD display. The indicators are tiny and hard to see from a distance. I like the older style better but some may like the new style. I am still shaking this receiver down but it seems to be a keeper with tons of power and features
More later

You may be correct. Last week I visited a newly opened Magnolia at BB store and I thought I remembered seeing (after listening to a couple of demo's of some the gear) a Yammy RX-V series on display:confused:  .

In any case, I just looked at a BB/Magnolia brochure and did not see Yamaha listed. Thanks for correcting the info.

I'm very interested in hearing what all you have to say about this receiver, as I just purchased one. Hopefully it will be a huge improvement over my old Pioneer VSX-D711.

Magnolia Home Theater and the Magnolia stores inside of Best Buys are two divisions of the same company, and they carry different products and offer different levels of service. The independant Manolia HT stores do not carry Yamaha, but the ones in BB do.

Or so I was told by a Magnolia HT employee.

RX-V2600 seems like a winner!

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie and in the market for a new receiver. In the price range I'm looking at, seems like the 2600 is the clear choice. I would imagine that they will be mostly available next week? Have done some calling around, and nobody has one yet. This is a great forum, looking forward to participating. Thanks.

Some places may have them, I bought one on ebay, and the guy said his shop sold the last one last night, so I asked if they had any RX-V1600's, it turns out they did, so I got one of those instead. I know all about the whole warranty issue, but his shop is an authorized Yamaha dealer, and it's listed on Yamaha's website, so he said if I ever had any trouble with it to just contact him. $869 shipped for the RX-V1600, or it would have been $1119 shipped for the RX-V2600, and that includes insurance, his Ebay id is hometheaterhome if anyone is interested.

And it appears that e-bay isn't always the best place to buy your gear ;)

Nope, not always, but sometimes it is. But luckily the person I'm getting it from is an authorized Yamaha dealer.

How much are you charging for the 1600 and 2600?

Hello
There are very few dealers authorized to sell RX-V online and even if you buy from an authorized dealer and the product is transshipped you may get no warranty.

As for the price lets just say that client's that I have a very good relationship with are doing better than what was quoted above when they pick it up of course;)

You are going to love that RX-V2600 Awesome would be a good way to describe this machine ;)

Actually, I'm getting the 1600, as it is what I had originally wanted, since I don't need the extra stuff the 2600 offers. This was stated in a previous post.
I understand what you are saying about the warranty, but the company I purchased it from will honor the warranty, so if there is an issue, I'll just have to ship it to them and let them deal with it. I will just have to hope that it doesn't break.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to go to the local tweeter and get it for the price you are offering your good clients, but hell, even the local tweeter is selling the 1600 for $1000, so I figure I'm still saving $206 when all is said and done by buying it the way I did. Let me ask you this, would you have sold me a 1600 and shipped it to me, regardless of wether or not you or Yamaha would honor the warranty, for less than $869? If so, I guess I should have waited, if not, I guess I didn't do to bad, as it's still cheaper than Tweeter, not everyone is fortunate to have the hookup at a dealer.

Can you give more of a review on it yet, or do you still need more time to play with it? I'm very anxious to hear what you have to say about it.
