I can't put speakers on the side of my TV because of my door...that's the problem. I really don't have room for towers..I have these speakers on stands in front of my TV pretty much...so unless I can get short towers that can be placed on my component console which is very long and short, I can't do towers.

Just buy the two fronts then. With an F3 in the low forties you will be fine with no sub or the one you have got. The crackling is likely a bad connection.

Those are a bit pricey..how do they compare to the Usher S520? Those I can get for $420 a pair..

The speakers are very similar. If you can get those for $420 it is probably a good deal. F3 is a little higher, but I bet the sound will be similar.

Check out the Jamo S606. They can be had for 450 to 500 a pair. There is a pair on audiogon right now for 379..

The Jamos look beautiful but are too big for sure.

Yea, I think I'll end up with the Ushers...

I must say, this site is way friendlier than AVS...you guys give real help...on that site I was told you remodel my bedroom to help the sound lol.

I skimmed quickly, and forgive me for not finding it, but what are the dimensions of your room?

You are sitting dead-on to tv, but pretty much at the back wall (bed)?

I have a wacky idea of sorts for you. Depending on the room and setup, how about some plant hangers? The type that go on the ceiling? Would it work if you had one hang closer to you, right of the right-door? (some space away from right wall would be nice).

Its an idea, and I've heard it worked really well for someone else. ;)

I guess the problem is that its hard to experiment with exact angles, unless you have two foot-stools and two very patient friends! :p

Well the ONLY other place I can put them would be ABOVE the TV on the wall.

My room is roughly 15'x15'

I either sit about 3' from the right speaker which is where my comp chair is or on my bed which is about 8' from the speakers.

I realized, I spent roughly $500 on 2 fronts + sub..so for $500, are there any bookshelf speakers worth getting that don't need a sub..or am I better getting cheaper + sub?

Maybe Usher S520...note: I watch a lot of action movies..lol

Polk LSi9's are an excellent bookshelf speaker with surprising low end. You can score a set of pre-owned or sometimes they go on sale for $500 a pair. They are 4ohm speakers.

I found one guy selling for $550 but it had knicks on it and he's had it for a while...

I'd definitely consider finding one of these...any other options out there?

So far I'm going to consider the LSi9 and the Usher S520.

Also, for my budget, how are those Wharfedale speakers...

My thing now is, do I spend $500 on 2 speakers or 2 speakers + sub..I'd rather go with 2 better sounding speakers if possible.

The Aperions are easily returned so no big deal if you don't like them. Check out the Mirage Omni speakers as they throw a large amount of sound.
