Well after 3 years (give or take) of owning and LOVING my Canton LE170's I finally went and got the LE150CM center to match. I havent really had time to fully adjust my system yet (I quickly adjusted the level down to closely match the fronts) and all I can say is WOW!!! I should have gotten it sooner. I must also point out the reason for buying it. Canton relaesed its GLE series to replace the LE series. I want to the local stereo store where they had the GLE407 and the GLE409 on display. To be honest I was dissapointed, My friend and I agree that my older LE170's sound much smoother and natural. My friend isnt even a stereo person at all and noted it right away, not to say the new ones sound bad, just different. I perfer mine, but thats a personal preferance. With all of that said, they still had the older LE center on dispaly so I asked if they had one in Beech/Silver to match what I have, and they had 1 left with no plans of getting more. After a lil haggaling I got it for a good price and sped home. After just hooking it up it was instantly MUCH better than my old Infinity (bought just to hold me over) Now as I write this Im watching a movie, and am floored by how much more natural people sound. When Im not looking it sounds like there standing infront of me. Ill update you all a lil more tomorrow when Ive trashed it a lil more with varied material and have fully adjusted for it. For now Im gonna enjoy it :D :D :D

Hah that thread about Cantons go you going huh.
Nice job on scoring the last one in stock. Make sure to post pictures. To be honest the more and more I look at Major's stereo I kind of regret buying my B&W's.

Congrats. Always liked the Cantons. My local dealer went out of business though :(

Nice find! I'm still on the fence right now between Cantons and a few other speakers. I'm auditioning several speakers and they're all good, even for an apples to oranges comparison. I just wish that Canton had a dealer close to me, so I could see them in person!

I know its not the same as seeing them in person but I can take lots of HQ pics (I have a canon DSLR) if you like.

Ill take pics tomorrow when I have everything all cleaned up and pic worthy. I dont like to put up pics cause my system is nowhere near what most people on this site have. That and I STILL live at home so its all set up in an un-finished basement. Hopefully Ill be moving in to my own house soon with the soon to be wife and I can finnaly set it up proper.

Cool! I'm still trying to decide between the Canton LEs and Monitor Audio Bronze. You've been providing some great feedback on the Cantons. Do you use your Cantons mainly for music or movies?

I use my cantons for EVERYTHING, there on everyday. I watch alot of TV and use my sorround sound for that. I watch TONS of movies, so I guess you could say I mainly use them for that if it was only between Movie/Music. The few times Ive actually listend to music with them, thats when I REALY loved them. I think they sound absolutly amazing for music. I really want to put together a really nice 2 channel set up with a nicer set of cantons, but the wife to be wont let me :( Oh well one day right :p

Sean, where are you? What part of the states I mean? I am currently living in Germany (about to move to Hawaii) and purchased a 7.1 set-up of Canton Ergos about a year and a half ago. I spent a lot of time on here researching the brand before I bought them and never was really able to get much in the way of responses from people. Seems no one in the states really knew all that much about them at the time. Oh well, have to say that I have really enjoyed my home theatre system since I bought them. Out of curiosity, which ones are you looking at for putting together a two channel system?

LOL

I'll have to live with whatever speakers I get for a while...

A question about the your LEs...

I understand that the LE series has an ABS front baffle. Do you know if the ABS is the only baffle material, or is it layered over MDF? also, is the ABS fairly solid?

I had the same concern with the PSB Alphas; when I rap on the cabinet with my knuckles, some parts of the speaker don't seem as solid as other parts of the speaker.

Thanks!!

Yeah the front baffle on the towers is abs, I have no clue whats under it. I just knocked on it and it seemed perty solid.

Im near Chicago IL, and never heard of them till I accidently listend to them at ABT (A local electronics toy store) I dont really know what I would use for a 2 channel to be honest. I do however know that these sound good enough with music that I want some higher end ones in a dedicated 2 channel set up. But that will probably never happen.
