Thanks, I did decide to use a textured finish like the elemental design P7-650's or like how SVS has done in the past. I looks good and this sub is going up front under the screen. Here it is textured and ready for final coat of black tomorrow.

Ok last coat of black is on. Just waiting for it all to dry and then I will mount the woofer and test her out.:D

The sun makes it look like there are white specks but it is all black.

I can tell you need a router and a circle jig...
Router I have I but a need a new circle jig. Can't find the one I had. Fit was good and tight though, I have had a lot of jigsaw practice in my youth at a speaker shop:D

who cares it's mounted behind the driver anyway.

But if you do a lot of speaker work I love and use the jasper jig.

Ok it's done and in except for the grills. Still waiting for grill pegs and decorative port covers. running a 20hz tone through at about 105db did reveal a some port noise as expected but I do not think it will be an issue at normal levels with two subs going.

That looks terrible, no way you'll want to keep that in your room. I'll send you an address and be happy to dispose of that for ya.. :D

Ok, the port noise was bugging me even though I could not hear it during normal playback. The fact I knew it was there on the test tones was enough. I increased the depth to 17in and tuned them flat to 23hz. Vent velocity is now 16 m/s at f3 and it drops off as it goes lower instead of increasing as it did with the one port. F3 is 22.85 F6 is 20, and f10 is 17.4. I should have them finished the end of this coming week.

Happy now Rob? :D

I am now satisfied :)

You didn't have to do it for me. You are the one who has to put up with it :D :p

I didn't do it solely for you; I also did for my sanity. I would probably eventually go insane from knowing that I was not squeezing every ounce of performance out the ACI SV12's that is possible. My wife would find me writhing in my own excrement babbling incoherently about T&S parameters and the speed of sound in air or some other such nonsense:D:eek:

I did it for lsiberian too. He seems like a swell guy:)

I just didn't want you to catch a cold from the draft. I knew as an Aher you wouldn't resist testing the subs limits.

Ok, I finally got a break in the weather and was able to finish the second sub and get the grills made for both. They came out pretty good I think. However, I am going to take out the SV12's and make an single isobaric for someone, and put in titanic 12's in these boxes. The titanics are flat to 20.4hz in the same box and handle a whole lot more power. One of the new titanic drivers should be here tomorrow:D There are no white specs in the finish. The flash is doing that.
