Ok, so I finally bought a new 4K TV and now I am forced to get a new AVR. The TV is a 65 in Sony HDR x900E.

I am in between the Yamaha aventage 1060 and the marantz 6011. I will be running an external amp ( Emotiva XPA-3) to run EMP R55Ti LR and the R5Ti as surrounds along with the center. The sub is an old klipsch.

Which AVR do you all recommend? I heard that the DAC on the marantz is better. Or should I stick with Yamaha since I currently own an RXV-1700?

Both Yamaha and/or Marantz make very good quality AVR's. However, I do prefer Audyssey to YPAO. If you plan to go dual subs in the future, then the Audyssey Multi EQ XT 32 w/ Sub EQ will have and advantage in that it can EQ both subs independently. However, Yamaha is well known for reliability. I would focus more on the features and choose what is the best fit for your needs. Especially, since you will be using an outboard amp. Best wishes! :):):)

Cheers,

Phil

Both are fine brands. The Marantz may sound a tad better depending on your ears.

If I can help in any way, please let me know.

Yup. I have the 6011 and love what it's done for my room with Audyssey.

SubEq level matches my subs and makes sure they're phased properly separately first, but does both at the same time for actual eq'ing.

The Yamaha has better DAC based on specs, the Denon AVR-X4300H has better DAC chip than the SR6011, the Marantz has their HDAM, otherwise the two are very similar.
