Fibre optic vs. RCA

Hello,

I am knee deep in cables and information. I have a reasonable pair of monster RCA cables that I am using to connect my DVD player to a brand new Yamaha HTR5670 reciever. Is it worth upgrading to fibre optic cable? Also, my current sub has a left and right "line in" but the reciever has a single "sub out" what is the best cable to buy? I am new to all of this so any help would be great.

You can use a y-splitter for the sub http://www.cobaltcable.com, your sub cable will plug into it and it splits at the l/r sub line in. I have heard it can make a difference, but have not tested it myself.
