Who didn't see that coming with appointments like that? Perhaps political but most folks here (by FAR) won't be defending the big comm companies like Comcast & Verizon on extracting larger, disproportionate sums from lower tiers of society.

I experienced this already. I did not sign up for Comcast cable yet they kept sending me a box that I never hooked up. They CHARGED ME for NOT hooking that cable box up Not for having a box that was supposed to be free, for NOT USING IT. Even better, I returned it and they KEPT CHARGING ME. I was pissed and they not only refunded those fees, they discounted my service for the rest of the year. Now I actually have cable again as part of a new deal; I hooked the box up and used it once and it has been since disconnected.
