The best Pizza around these parts I have had is from Stuc's. It was a family owned shop for many years. It was recently sold as were the recipes. I have not noticed a difference. There are a couple of other shops that are good as well, but I feel they are the best.

Great pizza is in the crust(dough) & the sauce. When those are good, the pizza is good. Good cheese & toppings just add more layers of flavor.

I have been making Pizza at home occasionally too, experimenting with the crust.

Some of us speaker correct english pal. I have no Favourite Pizza because Favourite is not a word.

My Favorite Pizza is from Brix. But the best pizza I ever had was in France. They sliced real cheese on it and real meat. Like the entire pizza was crust sauce cover in one slice of meat and on slice of cheese. Of course Crepes with the Ham, Cheese and Frankfurters where the best food there. 5 euros for a man's meal. The silly gals always put fruit in their crepe. They never understood that meat and cheese make the best crepes.

Now I'm having pizza for lunch. :p

The only place in the US that can be called pizza is the NY metro area (northern NJ holds up quite well). Everything else is just $h!t with cheese :D. Best place is a small spot in the village on Bleeker & 6th Avenue, who's name I forget right now.

Are we gonna start with this NY thing again? That's it! I'm gonna send up some Italians from South Philly to break knee caps!:p:D

Fuggedaboutit!!! I will give Philly all the props in the world for the cheesesteak, particularly when it comes from a small shop on South St. served by a guy with no teeth, but in my experiences with Philly pizza I have been less than impressed! You guys do make up for it with some very high quality sausage and peppers though :).

My wife can't eat red sauce b/c of reflux so we came up with our own homemade pie which I really like.

We use a very high quality pesto sauce with some extra virgin olive oil.

Then we add fresh tomato slices, mushrooms, spinich, fresh sliced mozzarela and shredded, fresh oregano, basil, tofu, and lucatelli grading cheese.

While I still love a good NY cheese pie, this one is quite excellent and healthy too!

Sounds tasty Gene. You should try mixing the pesto with some Ricotta to make a variation on a white pizza.

Holy crap! You can eat all of that in one sitting?

Focus: There's a place down here that is as close to real NJ/NY style pizza that I've had since I left that area back in '93. It a hole in the wall joint called the Italian Deli. Oh and as a side note, pepperoni and sausage are my prefered toppings.

Back in NJ it was a place called Danny's Pizza 1 and Subs 2. If you're from anywhere around the Middletown/Red Bank area, this is the place to go! (If it's still there of course.)
Know them well, sent you a PM.
