Want to get my father a nice gift.
Shipping to the USA.

I am going to get him a Sub and a Receiver.

Between these subs which would you get for a small to medium sized room. He is not much of a bass head. HSU and Rhythmik are out of the question Price range.

Price range - less than $450 FIRM ( I would prefer less than $400, But I do like the SVS)

Bic Acoustech PL-200 II $ 300
Monoprice SW-15 $376
SVS SB-1000 Pro $437
Airmotiv SE8 8" Flex Subwoofer $269.1 (military discount)

Also looking to get a nice 5.1 or 7.1 receiver. He'll probably only use HDMI.

Price Range - Less than $300 FIRM

Sony STRDH590 5.2 - $270
YAMAHA RX-V385 5.1 - $280

I imagine Denon will be highly recommended. What is the best budget Denon ??

Out of those subs I'd go for the SVS. The only Denon that fits your budget is the S-540BT which is $299. In general Yamaha and Denon usually get the nod over Sony in these parts.

Another nice small sub with good performance is the RSL Speedwoofer 10s but appears to be only a gift certificate option until they come back in stock....otherwise I'd also vote SVS out of those choices.

I also like the RSL that HD suggested.

And for me a pair of Rythmik fv18’s.
Thanks.
