I think this article says most of it:

"The coolest product at the show was this Eminent Technology unit that produces 110 dB at 10 Hz. It is designed to supplement subwoofers (!!!) in the 5 Hz to 20 Hz range. A 1/3 horse power motor turns the..." Read More

$12,900? I see about $180 worth of parts. But then again...Bose. Can't blame a guy for trying to make a living.

Here's some specs:

Frequency response 1Hz – 30Hz +/- 4dB
suggested crossover 30Hz @ 18dB/octave
Sensitivity 90dB 1 watt 1 meter @10Hz
Maximum acoustic output >110dB between 1 and 30Hz.
Distortion typically 3% or less between 1 and 30Hz @90dB
Warranty – 3 years parts and labor
Price $12,900 each, not including amplifier or crossover
Patent Pending

Personally, I'd get 2 Phoenix Gold Cyclones and stick them in a wall over this. But even with two cyclones, you're only going to get about 100dB from 10Hz - 50Hz.

Hmmm....a whole house fan and subwoofer rolled into one tidy package. You guys down in Arizona should like this thing. ;)

they actually contacted us to review it and we declined. If i need more subsonic bass in my room, I could always decouple the air intake from my air handler in my primary home theater room

Yeah, but how could you hook up the LFE signal to the air handler????

well obviously you can't but considering the LFE track has little to no content below 20Hz that shouldn't be an issue ;)

But what about that minute time that it does?? what are you going to do then? Fart? That's hardly 110dB

Silly, I'd just pull your finger! This thing has "gimmick" written all over it - in case the price didn't give it away. :)

Of course it's a gimmick, but it's still a pretty good idea. I wish I was the one who cam up for it.

Are you sure??? I called the factory rep down here (the one in Hollywood, Florida)
And he slightly explained it to me.
Also that a full demo is set up at the Tallahassee Main Branch. And to speak with Bruce Thigpen (sorry if mispelled)
So I will call the main branch later...
From my understanding, is that it runs on its own amp that is seperately mounted in an attic.
And a refernce to the sound and feel of a Helicopter blade in your HT room.
But it will shake the whole house.

Oh the product is real. There's no denying that. But tell me, would you but one?

Oh not me personally. But those winners at the Cedia HT setups in the range of 100,000 to well over 1 million would. Heck the $15,000 Krell 420lb subwoofer I think claims 118-120db at 18hz. But then rolls off, so to have a true feel of 110db at 1-30hz would be cheaper...

I'd like to demo one, just to see what it feel like.

I have a buddy with a Sonosub tuned to 17Hz and he played a 17.5Hz tone  It was cool because there wasn't really a lot of sound, just a lot of activation within the room (you could feel the pressure) and stuff vibrating. Can't imagine what 1 Hz would do.

There should have been no sound at all, Just the house vibrating. If you can hear anything at those frequency's it will be harmonic distortion. I played a 20hz tone on the Velo DD15 and I could not hear it at all except that the whole house was about to fall apart, walls, roof and the windows sounded like they were going pop right out :D I then played a 15hz tone and hell yea, this'll bring your house down  :D

cheers :)

Well, if you had bats in the attic, it might take care of them, but good.
