A few suggestions.

A: You need an equipment rack, setting the receiver on the carpet isn't a very good idea for the sake of the receiver and a potential fire hazard. Just get a cheap Wal-Mart stand to start with, they have nice looking A/V stands for right around $100 at Wally World.

B: The center is to far below the tv, or rather the tv is to high. I could see you having neck problems from looking up to watch tv.

C: Last suggestion, it looks like the fronts aren't toed in. Toeing them in will improve your imaging in most cases.

I didn't see a sub or surrounds, so some other upgrades maybe?:D

Subwoofer? Where's the subwoofer?

Seth, The TV being that high won't give you neck problems.

I think it's nice. I know how difficult it is to make a nice setup in a tiny place. It's a lot of work. I think you did a good job. It's very clean looking, no wires all over. But, like Sheep had asked, "where's the sub?"

Jack

ps. It probably wouldn't hurt to get some space between the components for breathablility, will help them last longer.

I actually eliminated the sub because I have picky neighbors. I got tired of hearing them pound the wall in the middle of movies. I am quite content with the base I am getting out of the 603's though.
As far as the Media rack go's If I end up doing anything I am going to get some metal rods from home depot and build some thing small. I know having my equipment stacked like that is hard on it but oddly enough things don't get too hot.

I had my speakers toed in a lot more then they are but with them being so close you lost a sense of left and right sound. It blends well at that distance... too well. So I toed them out more. Personal preference sort of thing on that deal.

The surrounds are actually Canton Mx's (satellite speakers) I have them behind the couch on the window sill. Not best placement for them but once again I didn't have very many options. I will post a couple of more pictures so you get a better feeling of the room.

Oh and yes your point about the tv being too high. No neck problems but damn I hate it when people talk out of their feet some how = P

I put some more pictures up, I hope this gives you a better feel to my pad. And why I have my surround hidden behind the couch like I do. And why my equipment is hidden like it is. This room is a focal point when you walk threw the door. I am enjoying the best of both worlds. Its appealing and I have if not good decent surround sound.

Nice

for me the look of the room is key. I don't have a dedicated H/T room(a least for now;)), so everything must look great and blend in. Nicely decorated, to bad about the neighbour.

The room looks good. Why do fireplaces always get in the way?

Hey I have an idea. Move the fireplace to the top, and move the television down. LOL

Wish it was that easy.

I like the way you think!!!

Seriously the tv being up that high blows. Not that it hurts my neck, if I have company I am usually laying down with her, if I am by myself, I am usually once again laying down. But like I said, it sucks when those damn actors figure out how to talk from their feet.

I know I wouldn't be able to manage with the TV that high, but as long as it works for you then that's good.

So after everyone asked where the sub was at, I came up with a plan.

Master Plan
Mission Statement
The goal of the master plan is to be able to enjoy true bass with out receiving complaints from my neighbors.
Solution
Better placement of sub woofer to achieve set goals.
Execution

Its a 8 inch Canton sub. Its kind of hard to tell if it sounds good given my brain doesn't seem to register the sound as much when shaking. I will continue testing this setup and let you know. Another problem I am having is seeing the screen. I am thinking about adding a mirror above the sub angled so I can see the tv.

I didn't realize that was where you intended to keep the sub. I thought you were testing it, you know the whole put the sub in or near the listening position while you crawl around on you hands and knees looking for the sweet spot. I guess I should have figured that out since you said you where trying to avoid annoying the neighbours. I have neighbours, and I care not what they think.:D

Looks like you are attempting to accomplish what a butt-kicker does - the feel of bass without the wall-shaking sound?
