yes, but at $9000 I think I'll just replace my receiver first :)
ok. I just wanted to make sure I was reading this thread and what people were looking for correctly. It looks like the same company also has a EQ called the Bijou. But I believe it's a 3 channel EQ.

That price was MSRP back in like 2001.

Here is a cheaper one. $400-$600
AudioControl Rialto 7-Channel Equalizer.

The Bijou - awesome unit, still no solution

The Bijou is a really awesome unit. It takes the place of many separate eq's. There's one catch. You need separate amps and the use of your pre-outs to experience full surround equalization. There's no reason to be spending big dollars on an expensive receiver if you're going to power your speakers externally. None of your receivers internal amps would be required if you choose to use this Bijou.

See page 10 of the owners manual. It explains it well.

Back to the issue of the tape loop. None of todays receivers offer a tape loop that processes a digital signal to an alalog eq. The only way to eq multiple channels, or digital sources, is though separate external amps.

I wonder if the THX DB-25 Common Audio Connector on this eq would solve the connection issue, and if it's compatible with RS232 and RS423 serial connections. My guess is that it's main use would be to connect the eq to a one piece 7 channel amp to save on connections.

A DB25 connector is a 25-pin connector borrowed from the computer world, where it's been used for both serial and parallel ports; sometimes used for controlling audio gear by computer or, on THX gear, to connect multiple audio channels with one cable. Also used in custom installations where numerous cables must be bundled. Used for some RS232 and RS423 serial connections. This is also used for the parallel connection on IBM printers.

Anyone?

I may be way off in thinking this, but I am hoping at least in my case that switching from the nad to the 4600 with the built in eq will give me at least some adjustment to give me the sound I'm looking for. I can't wait to try it.

It is only stereo, but the behringer deq2496 does have digital in/out, so you can put it between your digital source and reciever, if you set your digital source to pcm only (not dolby digital). How often is your Music Choice thing in 7.1 anyhow?

It has one xlr digital in (which can be fed from an rca coaxial via an appropriate cable), and an optical digital in, and similar digital outs. The source must be selected on the unit, as there is no remote.

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but it didn't seem clear which behringer model people have been suggesting.
