Exchanged my Onkyo TX-SR605 for TX-SR705

Hopefully I didn't make a mistake but after reading the specs on the Onkyo TX-SR705 which is only a $140 more I decided to exchage it. I'd only had it for a quick minute so I just returned it, paid the difference and made the Exchange.

Not sure what all of these mean but they called them special features:

HDMI V1.3 repeater (3in/1out, 1080p compatible)
HDMI video up-conversion with DCDi technology
Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding
THX Select 2

The unit does not upscale to 1080p it will only take a 480i image and scale it to 480p. The first Onkyo model to upscale beyond this is the Onkyo 875 and you pay a premium for access to the Reon chip that allows this feature.

As far as the price difference if the 705 I think it is well worth the price to have pre-outs that will allow for the addition of an amplifier later if needed. Both receivers are great items for the price.

You get one more HDMI input, the DCDi is a faroudja chip that will do the deinterlacing for you. The upconversion means that anything you input at composite, s-video, or component video will be output on HDMI so you only need one video cable going to your tv. THX Select 2 certified means it has meet or exceeded the THX standards for a receiver and gives you THX processing.
