Ew! Subwoofer Short Circuiting, please help?

Well (as some of you might know), I have a Sony DAV C990 DreamSystem, and I just bought new cables for the subwoofer, which apparently short circuits.

I know this by th receiver goes to <PROTECT> mode when the subwoofer is being used for about 15 seconds.

I rechecked all the plugings, unplugged and re plugged, and yes my system works fine w/o subwoofer plugged in.


Anyone recommend me what I should do now? Should I open it up and is there a fix?

You can't even open it and yet you want to try to fix it?

You might want to seriously rethink this.

Did you by the sony cable? Rumor has it that not just any cable will work. It's gotta be the "official" Sony cable hat you can only get from Sony.

If so, Just send it to mfgr or authorized service station and have them fix it.

Hmmm... just bought it from E-pay, eh? Dunno, but I got a baaaaad feeling about this.
