Either of those receivers would be fine unless you are listening at extreme levels. I listened to them with an Integra 5.3 that has 100w/ch and it could push them to as loud as I was comfortable with. David Solomon (one of the owners of era) recommends at least 75w/ch of good power. I have heard other people say that the more power you give them the better they sound.

Ditto.

Between those two amps, I would choose the Yamaha, just for the 4 HDMI inputs. It's also a pretty powerful amp so it should drive the D4 just fine.
