The prolific German loudspeaker designer Karl-Heinz Fink has bought the Epos loudspeaker company and is rebooting the brand with new designs, starting with the ES14N speaker coming later this year. The new speaker is named after the most famous model from Epos’s heyday in the 1980s, but features an all new design inside and out. It’s a biggish, 2-way stand-mount speaker like its namesake, but the technology inside is decidedly 21st-century.

Epos epic 5 were my first speakers and as such have a great place in my heart. There was a time that I thought about waiting for a new generation of their speakers for an upgrade. A time that never came.

I also had a good test experience with a replacement speaker which had a ceramic tweeter. But I can't understand the insistence on keeping the Epos name when there is nothing left of that name. I think he should just start a new brand of his own.
