Music Server

1) Are you currently looking for or using a music server?
A: Not really - but good idea
a) if you are currently using, which do you use and why
A: NA/ - don't have one
b) if you are not, would you like one, why or why not.
A: truthfully it would be great - big Pandora fan and would like ability to play MP3, WMA and various formats through stereo
2) When purchasing a music server, which are the three most important considerations to you and why?
A: 1. 802.11n - fastest current wireless for home
2. supports all or most audio file formats - MP3, WMA, WMV, WAV, etc.
3. USB 3.0 and/or eSATA external ports which can read hard drives jam packed with MP3, WMA, etc. files
4. preferably an HDMI output
3) Are their any deal breaker features in music servers (meaning you wouldn't buy one with that feature)? What are they? dealbreakers: no wireless, doesn't support Pandora, doesn't have eSATA and/or USB 3 port(s)

Contest Questions:
1) Are you currently looking for or using a music server?
>>Yes, I use my HTPC as a music server

a) if you are currently using, which do you use and why
>>HTPC that i built, Windows 7 64-bit, running foobar2000 v1.0 upsampling 24-bit/96khz and wasapi add on, output via HDMI

b) if you are not, would you like one, why or why not.
>>N/A

2) When purchasing a music server, which are the three most important considerations to you and why?
>>1. Upsampling/Dithering - it is very easy to hear the improvements and if the ps3 and the free music player foobar2000 can do it, any decent music server should be able to pull it off.
>>2. Network connectivity both wired and wireless N, for ease of installation and updating.
>>3. Ability to stream FLAC from Network Attached Storage (NAS) - so i can collect one digital music library and play that library in multiple rooms in the house.

3) Are their any deal breaker features in music servers (meaning you wouldn't buy one with that feature)? What are they?
>>Yes, lack of upsampling
