Got lucky today and got in an audio store in Ottawa that had the Veritas line from Energy. Those were v2.4i hooked onto an H/K 745.

WOW! TREMENDOUS details! This 2" aluminum "midrange tweeter" is really making the difference, especially on voices. You can pinpoint every sound on the soundstage if you close your eyes. Heck, even with your eyes opened! Pretty impressive I must say. But the downside is that they lack the vibration/dynamics I was looking for in a speaker. So I'm still getting the reference connoisseur line! :p For 5500$ a pair, it could be a little more "bassy"; geez they have 3 woofers! (Even if I can have 'em for under a grand with my discount :D)

Comments anyone? What were your thoughts on that set for those who had to chance to hear them?

I auditioned them last week and had the exact same thoughts. For a $5500 full range speaker, I'd like more bass. They sounded great for home theatre, but for music, I don't like to use a sub, and these speakers didn't cut it. I preferred my PSB Stratus Golds. However, they were being run off a low end Denon and I'm sure they would sound better with a high end amp. Overall, I was disappointed with them and for the money, if going with Energy, I would get the RC-70.
