Veritas

I have been looking at the Veritas line myself at Vanns....very nice wood veneer, but actually similar to the RC and CR towers in terms of performance. The present Veritas line cannot be compared to the older Veritas line....the old ones weighed twice as much and were much higher end. I think the new Veritas is a good deal at present high discount only as long as you know that you are not getting the old quality which was similar to the higher end Paradigm models. The wood veneer alone makes them worth more than the lesser Energy models...Energy was purchased by Klipsch a few years back and now, Audiovox. Audiovox has a history of buying and bleeding companies for a few years, while putting no money into them. It appears Energy has abandoned the high end and Veritas is simply their average product in a nicer box....

I don't ever remember seeing the v6.3 being 120 lbs each speaker. I do recall they were always very close to the RC70 in build / audio specs and I always wondered why they were priced so high. For the price savings (not sure if you'd really hear a difference) I stick with the RC70.

For argument sake I believe he was comparing the weight of the original v2.4i vs. the newer v6.3...although not quite double they were nearly twice the weight of the rc70 or V6.3's...:).

I'd consider 1500.00 as not bad for a new pr of v6.3's....I woulda easily paid that for a pr of 70's when I was shopping for Energies prior to buying my rc30's....nowadays I just sooner pass.

Just my 2 cents...

Ahhh, that makes sense, the 2.4i's were quite a bit different.

Hi Nasstify - welcome to the Energy Owners club! Those are some great speakers you just got - imaging and soundstage that the V6.3 provide is some of the best at its current price point, IMHO. Let us know of your impressions when they arrive. Until then, check out my impressions of the V6.3 here:

PS - The Pioneer you have should drive those speakers just fine!

I dont have a powered sub yet and would love to add the Energy veritas sub but need to wait for it to go on sale. Currently powering my two old passive subs with my old amp.

What's the size of your room? And are you going to primarily be listening to music / ht? In all honesty, I think there are better sub values out there than the energy veritas sub (even when it's on sale at vanns). I would suggest looking into svs, hsu research, or any of the other Internet direct brands. I currently have dual hsu vtf3.3 and they blend very well with the rest of my veritas speakers.

Please give us a report on how ou like them. If the price goes down a bit I might give them a try. Seems only the 6.2 is deeply on sale.

Energy makes nice speakers but don't feel that to get the best performance you are limited to their subs. There are quite a few dedicated sub manufacturers that provide fine value, and arguably better bang for the buck. Hsu, SVS, Epik, Velodyne, Rhythmik immediately come to mind. There are others but these are the first four I thought of.

What finish did you get? Rosenut? I saw that finish up close...it is stunning. Oh yeah, don't buy an Energy sub unless it is next to free.

Hey thanks folks. Drove down to get them and could not fit them into my vehicle. Lucky I was there for a different reason, now I have to wait to have my bro bring them to me. I bought the ESW C8 for $160 canadian and ya I know its the little sister but for that price....? I still want to try and add a plate amp to my SB 110 Paradigm sunwoofer to add another powered sub but the shipping is brutal. Cant wait to try out the whole system when it arrives.

To be honest with you people the reason I am doing this is because my son works at the store and can get me the great deals.
