Looking for a set of small decent speakers to use with a teac ag-h550 in a 2 channel setup,no sub.Its for the bedroom, so small speakers a must.I'm presently looking into the energy's and cambridge audio's but am open.Any insight ,suggestions or opinions appreciated.

Without a sub... out of those 2 options... I'd say the S30.

The RC-Mini's are nice speakers, but they require a sub.

I use RC mini for my back surr channels. They can sound great for music too as long as you give them a good sub to work with.

Thanks. Since i'd be running without a sub,i'll rule out the energy's for now. Also does anyone have any experience with the ERA d4's.Just read a few reviews and doesnt look like i would need a sub with them and they a fairly small as well.

A small bookshelf has limited bass regardless of the specs. You may
also want to look at the Definitive Tech Pro Cinema 1000 speakers
at Crutchfield.com - what is your budget?

I've listened to the ERA D4. They do have a surprising low end capability for their size. They are pretty laid back and would be great for low level listening. I'm not sure how they would compare to the S30, but they certainly cost more. However, the ERAs have top notch build quality and have a large selection of finish options as well. If you have an opportunity to audition them I would certainly do so. Even if you don't end up buying them, they will impress you.

If used isn't a problem you might take a look at a pair of ERA Sat 3s while you're at it.

You've just reinvigorated my interested in ERA speakers. I always wanted a pair of ERAs, now I'm back on that bandwagon!

The D4's look nice - however, the 84 db sensitivity is something
to think about.

The AG-H550 has a fairly robust amplifier section, and this is for a bedroom. The ERA D4 sacrifices efficiency for extension.
