Energy C-300's vs. Infinity Primus 362

OK, I was hoping to get some advice for my next purchase for my HT audio.

Here is my current setup:

Pioneer VSX-819H-K - 5.1-Channel A/V Receiver

Pair of Celestion Ditton 33's in the front and some sonys from a HTIB from a while back for my sorrounds and center channel.

I'd say my use is: 50% movies, 40% games, 10% Music.

One of my biggest complaints of my setup right now is that I can't hear dialogue very well for movies. I know this is because of my weak center channel so I am looking at the Energy CC5 for a center. I'm pretty much sold on that. My biggest constraint for the center speakers is that it has to be less than 14" wide. If anyone knows of another comparable speaker in that price range, please let me know.

I'd also like to upgrade the Front L&R speakers for now. I currently narrowed it down to the Energy C-300's and Infinity Primus 362. They are both pretty much the same price, and I'm going to have a hard time deciding. Anyone have any experience with these that could offer some guidance?

Thanks.

You choice of center narrowed your L&R choices. They need to be a timbre match and that generally means that they need to be the same brand and usually from the same product line. That would mean the C-300 with either a CC10 or CC5. If the room is very big that little CC5 is going to be straining. I think I'd rethink center placement so you can have a beefier center.

Only way I could achieve this would be to put the center channel on my bottom shelf, which is essentially on the floor. Not sure how much that would affect the listening experience.

Maybe on a bracket on top of the TV? I did that for a while.

You could always tilt your CC slightly up towards the listening;). I know this is not ideal solution but 14" is not much space to work with.
My 2 cents...:)

That sounds kind of ghetto (no offense). I'd like to keep a clean look as much as possible.
Maybe a bit but companies used to sell mounts for the top of DLPs so you wouldn't be the first. I made this one for $5.

Alright I gave in.

Got 2 Infinity 362s and a PC350 on the way.

I'll let u guys know how they sound (and look).

The speaker mounted on the TV doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, but I'm still not sure I'm gonna do it. Maybe I'll just move some stuff around.

Will keep you guys posted.

The PC350 is probably better than that Energy center because it has a tweeter and midrange in vertical orientation. The Infinity 360 is a lot like it and I loved that speaker for a center.
