Short version of question: I'm considering buying the Energy C-300 speakers sight unseen and was hoping to get some insight before pulling the trigger. I'm contemplating doing this because of the price, specs, dimensions, and I've had good luck with the previous Connoisseur series. I couldn't find any reviews here or through a google search.
Long winded background:
I was wondering how they compare against the older Energy C-8, C-4, and C-2 I've had in the past. Using those as the benchmark, will I be disappointed? Are there any gaping flaws with the sound quality?
They'll be used for 95% home theater in conjunction with an Energy AC-300 center channel, a pair of Energy Take 2.2 rears, and a quality homemade 15" sealed powered subwoofer.
Before I had kids, I did a significant amount of research before buying the Energy C-4s and an AC-300 center. Used them for 50/50 music/movies. Then I sold them to a friend after buying the C-8s. But then I had kids...and they ran around the house a lot. Afraid that they would knock these beasts over, I switched over the C-2s mounted.
Anyway, redecorating and now I "need" a set of narrow floorstanding main speakers to replace the C-2. I really enjoy how the C-2s blend with the AC-300 and the subwoofer I made. But this setup won't work with the new LCD TV and furniture I'm getting.
Any help?
