Hey guys,
I'm new to the home audio world so I'm putting things together as I go here. I've been reading the forums as much as I can so please excuse me if you feel my questions could have been answered with a search.
I have read good things about the EMP ECA-4s and was looking into getting those. I have a medium-large room (not sure what a large room is exactly) that is ~18'x13'. I plan to ceiling/wall mount them if possible because the layout of my room isn't very friendly to tower speakers. (The TV is on a gian't flat wall and the towers would feel like their sticking out i think)
I was considering the EMP ECA 5.0 system, and adding subwoofer (my current roomate already has a woofer so i don't need to buy that right this moment)
So today I also saw the EF50's are bookshelf speakers instead of compact, but the specifications seem about the same but they are much more expensive if i buy two surround pairs and a center channel. (the ECA system is on a nice sale right now)
What are your opinions as far as the ECA 5.0 system for this room size, as opposed to the ef50's. Are these even going to be adequate in my room do you think?
I will be powering them through an onkyo sr607 receiver if that's important.
I'm not 100% committed/dedicated to the EMPs so if you really think these speakers would be inadequate or not the best option let me know, but I was attracted by the apparent price/performance ration of the eca 5.0 system
Thanks for replies guys!
