For 300 today is that the best sub I'm going to find in this range? How is it compared to say the klipch rw-12 and other subs that go on sale in this range?

Thats a nice sub for that price, I would buy it over the klipsch and the stf 2 and the bic, and the daytons.... I bought one and I am not really in the market for one... Just kind of curious...

It's a sealed design so it won't have a lot of low bass compared to the ported ones, but that price is very good. I think the Klipsch rw12d will have more output, in case you have a larger space to pressurize. It may have higher sound quality over the Klipsch sub though.
