My prediction is that Emotiva will be up'ing the ante on all fronts in the the next year. The new prepro's are juicy to say the least. If you want more info, go to http://www.emotivalounge.com and read up!

I have been floating around over there waiting to hear when the subs will start shipping. I want to see what the final amp spec is before I order. They will be coming out with many new products this year. The XPA-5 will start arriving very soon and I can't wait to see the new pre-pros.

I tried to pre-order a LMC-2 but its still too soon. That was over the phone. Oh man, I'm going to love getting that 40% discount on my next prepro!

My bottom of the line Emotiva is by all means NOT JUNK!!! Grabbed this on my $450.00 amp:

• Completely stable into 4 ohm loads

• Rated Power Output: Channels 1-5 (All Channels Driven at 0.04%THD, 120vAC/ 60HZ supply) 8 ohm: 125 watts / 4 ohm: 225 watts

Not sure what I would do with seven kilowatts! Run a big theater?

Can someone tell me why the XPA-5 channel is the same price as the XPA-2 channel? Shouldn't the 5 channel by more than $799.
Why would you buy the 2 channel when the 5 channel is the same price?

The XPA-2 has more power. You can bridge it to make 1,000 watts @ 8 ohms. Otherwise, it's 250WPC x 2.

The XPA-5 is fixed at 200WPC x 5 @ 8ohms.

will this make a big difference in the sound? And if I am hooking up to a 7.1 receiver, should I buy their 7.1 amp?
My knowledge of amps is abysmal. I really need to find a good source to educate myself more on this before purchasing. I like the Emotiva amps, and the Outlaw amps seem good as well, but maybe not as much bang for the buck.

It probably will not make one bit of difference going from 200WPC to 250WPC or even 1,000WPC. But it sure is damn cool.

When it comes to quality + value, I don't think anybody beats Emotiva.

If you want 7 channels, just get 2 of the XPA-5 for $1,600, which would be 200WPC x 10Ch.

The MPS-2 is 200WPC x 7Ch for $1,700.

Some people say all you need is one XPA-5 (200WPC x 5) and use the receiver's internal amps only for the rear surrounds.
