Emotiva T2 or Martin Logan 60XTI

So this is a follow up to a post I made last week. I recently decided to purchase a pair of Emotiva T2 speakers since they went on sale. I also recently learned about clearance sale Best Buy is running. During that sale I was able to find some Martin Logan 60XTI speakers that were open box and relatively close in price ($1100 for the 60XTI vs $750 for the T2). Assuming their condition is decent, I'm tempted to cancel the Emotiva order before it ships and pick up the 60XTIs instead. Before I did that I wanted to ask around and see if you all thought it the 60XTIs would be a significant enough upgrade to warrant the extra money considering I'd also be using them with a subwoofer. I was also curious if the tweeter on the model might be too high since it is close to the top of the 48" model and I would be closer to 40-42" while sitting 7-8 feet away from the speaker. I've not seen any reviews on this speaker that discuss the vertical dispersion of the sound. The 40i model is also available open box but I've heard the T2s are better so I would likely just stick with them if I didn't get the 60XTI

Both speakers will have fairly narrow vertical dispersion. 7 to 8' might be a bit too close to an AMT mounted at a 48" height, but the only way to know is to get them in-house and hear for yourself.

In terms of “prestige” or “pride of ownership” and resale value, Martin Logan has the edge like Revel, KEF, Focal, etc.

I just learned that martin logan posts official schematics. Apparently the tweeter is centered a little over 45 inches off the ground and the official vertical dispersion is around 30 degrees. If these values are accurate, I think it would be fine (assuming I've done basic geometry correctly and properly understand the vertical dispersion angle) but I definitely want to test them for myself.

Do you have any opinions on sound quality between the two? I care less about the resale value and more about if the martin logan is of a higher sound quality that is worth the extra money.

Most speaker reviews with vertical dispersion charts will show that you ideally want to be in a ±5º window of being directly on tweeter axis. It sounds like you will be fine. (To be fair, I only did some quick and dirty math... but 5" height difference over say 72" distance? should be around 4º, and maybe 3º at 96" seated distance.)

Based on what I know of the two, and I'm late to the party here, the Martin Logan would likely be the clear choice. With that said I don't have a ton of experience with either speaker but have done more than a fair amount of research of the 60 XTI's. Did you go with them or not and what are you impressions if you did?
