I'm not really ready to purchase quite yet, I still need to save up some more money. But I wouldn't mind having the full 7 channel config. it's just that my surround speakers are only rated for 125 watts per channel, and I'm kinda leary of overpowering them.

Just got another email back stating the upcoming XPA-5 will be 200x5 and will cost less than what it would cost me right now to buy a 3 channel version of an MPS-1 or 2

GR, I wouldn't worry too much about the 1.2s. I have 170W and never go anywhere near it even when I crank it up in my 3600 cu. ft. space.

It's not going to matter, since I'll be picking up the new XPA-5 at the end of the year when it comes out, and I'll just power my 1.2s off the receiver. That way I can just add a 2 cannel amp in the future should the need ever arise.

Yup, them too. I figured somebody'd bring up the Mcs sooner or later.

Does anyone have pics of what the XPA-5 will look like..?

I assume that It will just be the same as the MPS-2.... just with a 5 channel config...?

I wonder if Emotiva will ever produce an Amp with more power then the 200 wpc. That would be cool....

You'd actually be more likely to blow them with an underpowered amp than an overpowered one. Most "blown" speakers are damaged by over driving an amplifier and sending a badly clipped distorted signal to the speakers. That's how I justified powering my surrounds with 800 wpc just like my mains, that and I had the amps. To protect my speakers.... ;)

True, but I'm not going to be underpowering them by running them off my RX-V1600, but I did get two of the Emotiva BPA-1 amps to run my surrounds on when I get the XPA-5, so each amp bridged puts out 150 watts per channel, I'll be ok there... right now I'm using them to power my main left and right speakers, and they sound great.

Oh yeah the BPA-1's should work great. I'm going to have to get something Emotiva to play with sometime. These new deals are making it hard to resist but I just don't need any more amps; I have more than I use now anyhow. This weekend I emailed a couple of my friends who are looking for audio system upgrades and told them about the Emotiva deals to see if I can get them to get them; then I could enjoy too!

The BPA-1's are actually selling for $149 + shipping, not the $159 that the website shows. But so far I'm enjoying them, I just really wish the XPA-5 would ship soon, I'll have to wait till the 1st quarter of next year sometime to get it. But that's ok, I'm saving up for a new tv, and my gear still sounds good being powered off the receiver.

LPA-1 uses the minijack as well, FWIW
This is correct. The LPA-1 has the plug type 12v trigger.
That XPA-1 looks like a great deal. As much as I like my LPA, I'll no doubt be wishing I'd have held out for the XPA.

Great, not I have amp envy as well as sub envy, Thanks alot Emotiva.;)
Man, this hobby sucks.:p
