I grabbed a pair of ERD-1s two days before they dropped the price to $299. However, I still got them on sale for $315, down from their $349 price tag, so I'm not going to haggle for an extra $16. At this price, I can't think of any other surrounds that will perform like these will for close to that price tag.

So far they seem to be solid performing surrounds, though I haven't messed w/the diffferent setting options available, so this may have even more of a positive impact on my impressions. Having owned a pair of QS8s in the exact same location w/the same exact equipment, I'd still have to give the nod to the Axioms. My opinion may change after more extensive listening, but the QS8s seem to have the edge over the ERDs for now.
