It's like I don't know you anymore. :D

Congrats on the new purchase! My experiences were only intended to give you some more info in deciding on your purchase. I'll be really happy if you get one and love it. Which model did you end up getting?

I'll bet you that they have a Thanksgiving sale. I'd say ask them if you can get a price adjustment if it's within the 30-day (I think that's the duration) return window. I'd think that they'd do that. Never hurts to ask. Well, it usually doesn't. :)
Thanks Adam always appreciate your info. I purchased the XPA-5. I did ask Chris about upcoming sales and he said around the holidays but not sure on which items would be cut. I will keep the price adjustment in mind.

I have a feeling you will be very happy with your new amp. I have the IPS-1 and can't say enough good things about it.

Initial impression is I like it. Hooked it up and popped in Jeff Beck "Live at Ronnie Scotts". I am sure, the wife is going to leave me now. :D
Only dissapointment is, thought my switched power center would power this thing up like my Adcom but "NO" still have to get up and push the button. Guess I will have to do some Wall Wart fabrication. The 876 only has a trigger for zone 2.
Any suggestions guys?

I could be mistaken but I don't think Emotiva reccomends that their amps be connected to a power center/strip.

Yes. You now have a reason to get the matching preamp with the trigger to turn on the amp.

There.

Problem solved.

I have a suggestion. Get this from Emotiva. I use it with my HK receiver and it works great. http://emotiva.com/et3.shtm
You just plug it into your receiver and then hook the trigger cable from it to the amp. It will turn on up to 3 amps via trigger cables that come with it.

Also they dont reccomend plugging the amps into a power center or whatever but I can tell you I had two XPA-1 amps plugged into an apc-h10 and they worked fine and didnt make a difference in sound. Just get the trigger module and your set. :)

It may work but you could also void the warranty if you run into problems, just FYI.

Appreciate you advice. My power center (not a strip) has a high current outlet for power amps (12 amp rated) the XPA-5 requires 10 amps. But to be safe I am now plugged directly into the wall. The switched outlet didn't work anyway. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks guys for the support, love this amp. Main reason to purchase was for the 2 channel improvement and it kicks my towers. The big surprise for me is 5 channel music and theater. Just watched "Saving Private Ryan" and it was like watching a different movie. Even at reduced volume the dynamic range is very impressive.

Congrats on the purchase! I knew you'd love it. It's always nice to get new gear that doesn't break the bank and sounds fantastic.
